Private services for Verna B. Fagles, 71, of South Bend, Ind., formerly of Waterloo, were Wednesday in South Bend with burial at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. She died Monday, (June 5, 1989) at Healthwin Hospital, South Bend. The cause of death was not available.

She was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Waterloo, daughter of Harry C. and Lena McLeod Fagles. She was a graduate of East High School. She retired in 1985 after 22 years as a sales representative for Boise-Cascade of Elk Grove Village, Ill. She also had managed shops in hotels in Milwaukee, Scranton, Pa., Miami, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Havana, Cuba.

Survivors include a sister, Anna Mae Masters of South Bend.

She was preceded in death by a brother Ralph B. Fagles in 1988.

Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend, was in charge of arrangements.
