Rev. Henry B. Nelson

Henry was born May 29, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the son of Erling and Nellie (Dehli) Nelson. He graduated from Lane Technical School in Chicago in 1944. He attended Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago and Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, SD and finished his Bachelor degree at Bethel College and Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He earned his Master's degree at the University of South Dakota. He served as pastor of various churches in Minnesota, Illinois, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa (First Baptist Church in Cedar Falls from 1969-1974).

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys of Waterloo; five sons, Daniel (Bonnie) of Mason City, Robert of Cedar Falls, Stephen (Lori) of Cedar Falls, Mark (Eve) of Sturtevant, WI, and Greg (Robin) of Kenosha, WI; ten grandchildren; and sister, June Nelson of Waterloo.

Henry died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Lakeview Landing in Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Evelyn Linne of Redondo Beach, CA.
