Funeral services are planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chapel of Memories East where friends may call after 12 noon Thursday, for John J. Brink, 81, of Parkview Gardens Care Center and formerly of 642 Riehl St.

Mr. Brink died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of complications of advanced age and pneumonia.

Born April 12, 1889 at Waukon to Herman and Hattie Brink. He was employed for 52 years by the WCF&N railroad, retiring in 1958.

Mr. Brink married Hedwig Gielau on March 30, 1920 at Dubuque. He attended First Lutheran Church here and was a veteran of World War I Barracks 1276.

Survivors include his wife, one stepbrother, William Hedwig of Cresco and one stepsister, Elsie,

Preceding him in death were his parents, and two sons.
