Leo Rigel 2nd Victim of Crash

Double Funeral for Man, Wife Saturday

Leo Lewis Rigel, 61, of 554 Adrian St., died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital at Osage after being in a traffic accident Sunday near St. Ansgar.

The one-car accident too the life of his wife, Mrs. Leo Rigel, 67, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday night. The accident occurred on Hwy 218 about two miles north of St. Ansgar at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Mr. Rigel was the driver of the car. The couple was en route to Minnesota on a fishing trip.

Funeral services which were scheduled for Mrs. Rigel at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home have been cancelled and a joint funeral for Mr. and Mrs. Rigel will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Jacobs, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home to view Mr. and Mrs. Rigel after 4 p.m. Thursday.

Leo Rigel was born Sept. 16, 1900, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Anthony and Mary Dobrowsky Rigel. He married Grace Ellen [Willier] Miller on May 10, 192o, in Waterloo. He had been employed at the Rath Packing Co. the past 15 years.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis of 232 Marie St., Elk Run Heights, and Rovert of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Tufte of Flint, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a son, and his wife on Sunday.
