John A. Talley, 407 Reed Street, Waterloo real estate dealer for 30 years, died at 5:45 p. m. Wednesday at Allen Memorial Hospital following a heart attack which he suffered Tuesday afternoon in the Mandarin cafe, 615 Sycamore Street. He was 53 years old.

He came to Waterloo 30 years ago from Kansas City, Missouri, and had been in the real estate business since. In recent years his office had been in his home.

He was born February 11, 1890*, at Independence, Missouri, the son of Pleasant N. and Etta Mae Talley. On March 6, 1917, he married Emma C. Koch at Rockford, Iowa.

Surviving are the widow; three sons, John A., Jr., in the navy at Boston, Mass.; Paul E., in the navy at San Francisco, Calif., and Kenneth B., at home, and two brothers, Fred G. Talley. 1106 West Ninth Street, and Paul, 312 Park Road.

Three sisters are dead.

Mr. Talley was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and of Helmet lodge 89, Knights of Pythias. The body was taken to the Kerns Garden chapel.
