CEDAR FALLS- Delores Sarah Fanning, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 15, 1920 in Iowa City, daughter of Emil and Wilma Gruetzmacher Rachut, adopted daughter of Herman and Hazel Bruns. She married Donald Fanning on December 20, 1942, in Las Vegas Nevada. He died July 11, 1994.

Mrs. Fanning was employed as a nursing assistant for Dr. Clifford Winder and Dr. Donald Bickley. She was also a resident manager of Colonial Manor Apartments in Waterloo for thirteen years with her husband.

Survivors include two sons, Mark of Cedar Falls and Craig (Debbie) of Middletown, Ohio; two grandchildren; a sister, Winnie Truax of Waterloo; and a brother, Donald Rachut of Mankato, Minn.

Preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Dorothy Stallings; and a brother, Henry C. Bruns.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from 6-8:30 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home. Public visitation also for one hour before services Thursday at the church.
