LADD, LIES, KREUSER, PENNE, CORNMAN, GREGORICH

WATERLOO — Donald Edward Ladd, 75, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, March 19, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a short illness.

He was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Minot, N.D.,. the son of Wallace and Margaret Kreuser Lies Ladd. He married Helen L. Penne Sept. 26, 1945, in Waterloo.

Mr. Ladd served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He worked in the neon sign business for 60 years, opening his own fabrication shop in 1985 in Marion.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Cheryl Cornman of Houston and Laura Gregorich of Berkley, Mich; a son, Tom of West Des Moines; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leslie of Corning, Calif.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Lorenz.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to.8 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. vigil service.

A memorial fund has been established.
