Services for James B. Jenkins, 79, of 1243 Ravenwood Road. Apt. 9, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of Memories, with burial in Shaulis Road Cemetery. Mr. Jenkins died Saturday night at Schoitz Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 5, 1905*, in Kirkwood, Mo., the son of William Henry and Carrie Simpson Jenkins Sr. He married Florence Stampley in Chicago in 1949. She preceded him in death.

He had lived in the Chicago area for many years, retiring in 1971.

Survivors include two sons, James B. Jenkins Jr. and William Henry Jenkins III of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Williams of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Jones and Mrs. Marion Brooks, both of Kirkwood, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

*Discrepency in birth year. His gravestone at Black Hawk County Cemetery says 1902-1985. However the age 79 agrees wtih a birth of Aug 1905.
