WATERLOO — Yvonne M. Stabenow, 73, of Waterloo, died at Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of complications from ovarian cancer.

She was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Osage, daughter of Glenn and Edna Orcutt Carpenter. She married Mel Stabenow July 26, 1958, in Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Stabenow graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1958. She worked at the Army Reserve office from 1974-1985 as switchboard operator and instructor. She was a member at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was a member of United Methodist Women, usher and greeter.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Don (Sue) of Davenport and Jack (Missy) of Waterloo; a half sister, Shirley Mand of Longmont, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Max, Ryan and Jessica Stabenow, Owen, John and Kurt Stabenow and Adam and Corey Lemaitre.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Kimberly J. Albers, in 1982.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow the services, and inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

She and her husband have attended every Iowa bowl game since 1983 and traveled extensively. She enjoyed sewing counted cross stitch, quilting and collecting wolf memorabilia.
