CEDAR FALLS - Mildred B. Beck was born October 9, 1913, in New Virginia, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Davis) Nicoson.

She attended high school in Armstrong, Iowa, graduating in 1931. Mildred worked as a dental assistant after high school. She was united in marriage to William E. Beck on June 14, 1936, in Rolfe, Iowa. He died March 14, 1995.

In 1965 Mildred became a Certified Dental Assistant, working in a dentist office in Humboldt and later was employed in an orthodontics office with Dr. William Baber in Ft. Dodge. She was past worthy matron of Humboldt chapter OES, and very active in the Congregational Church in Humboldt, particularly in the church choir and on the Deaconette Board.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Ann (David) Andreasen of Cedar Falls; granddaughter, Shelby (Darrell) Pedersen of Eagle Grove; four grandsons, Gary (Kenda) Beck of Ft. Dodge, Cory (Sabrina) Beck of Eagle Grove, Michael (Tracy) Andreasen of Lenexa, Kansas, and Scott (Heidi) Andreasen of Lenexa, Kansas; 13 great grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel), Tyler, and Alyssa Pedersen, Nicole (Nick) Ahrens, Derek and Tanner Beck, Lexis, Brady, and Dylan Beck, Allison and Sarah Andreasen, Emma and Madeline Andreasen; one great-great granddaughter, Natalie Pedersen; sister-in-law, Lorraine Nicoson of Armstrong; daughter-in-law, Shirley (Frank) Patterson of Eagle Grove.

Mildred died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Western Home Communities-Martin Center in Cedar Falls.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Edward Beck; three brothers, Merrill, Mac, and Robert Nicoson.
