CEDAR FALLS - Bernice B. Goecke was born November 16, 1919 in Grinnell, Iowa, daughter of M.D. and Dicy Bates Cooper.

On June 13, 1941, she was united in marriage to Henry Goecke in Marshalltown, Iowa. He preceded her in death.

She attended and graduated from Marshalltown High School. She was a homemaker and an employee of Meredith Publishing Company, Des Moines, for a short time after the death of her husband.

Survived by her sons: William (Sharon) Goecke of Standish, Michigan, Tom (Sharon) Goecke of Roseburg, Oregon, and Ted (Julie) Goecke of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Bernice died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers and one sister.
