Mrs. James H. Watson, 85, died at 3 p. m. Saturday at the home of her son, George R. Watson, 520 Dawson Street, after a long illness of complications incident to advanced age.

Mary C. Wright was born Nov. 30. 1842, In Rutland, Vt. She moved to Saranac Lake, N. Y., and spent most of her life there following her marriage to James H. Watson. She came to Waterloo to make her home with her son here nine years ago.

Surviving are four sons; George R. Watson, 520 Dawson Street; Edgar E. Watson 915 Falrvlew Avenue; Gene Ritchie, Rutland, Vt., and William Ritchie, Couor d'Alene, Idaho. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. today in the O'Kcefe & Towne chape!, Rev. George Woodall, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church, of which Mrs. Watson was a member, officiating. Burial was in Fairview.
