Mrs. Mary A. Older, 73, of 407 E. 1st St., died of complications following surgery at 6:30 a.m. Friday in St. Francis Hospital.

She was born Mary Durnin Aug. 11, 1897, at Grove Hill, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Beal Durnin, and came to Waterloo in 1906.

She was married July 22, 1914, at Waverly to Francis J. Older and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

In addition to one granddaughter, Mrs. Gail Peterson of Moses Lake, Wash., Mrs. Older is survived by five sisters: Mrs. Ellen Rosner and Mrs. Anna Adams, both of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Elizabeth Stafford of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Esther McKibben of Allendale, Ill., and Mrs. Genevive King of 715 Downing St. Other survivors are two brothers, Edson Durnin- 715 Downing- St., and Cecil Durnin of 2235 Temple St.

She was preceded in death by her, parents, husband, one son, and seven brothers.

Funeral services are pending at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday.
