Forest David Dillavou, 50, of 1929 6th St., Evansdale, died at 4 a.m. Sunday at Albert Lea, Minn., of an acute heart attack. He and his wife had gone there to visit his brothers on Saturday.

He was born March 12, 1920, in Henry County, Pa:, the son of Earl and Mae White Dillavou. He married Mattie Holtzamn on Jan. 10, 1942, at Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Dillavou served with the Navy in World War II and saw action in the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean areas. He was employed by the Rath Packing Co. at the time of his death. He had been an employee there for the past 28 years, except for his time of service in the Navy.

Surviving are his wife, three sons: Forest Ronald, of 1725 Huntington Road; Mervin of Rockford, Ill., and LaVern at home; two daughters, Julia and Brenda, both at home; four brothers: LaVern of Albert Lea; Leland of Freeborn, Minn.; the Rev. Wade, of Pleasant Plain, and Dwight of 1954 6th St., Evansdale; two sisters, Mrs. John Roth of Minneapolis and his twin sister, Mrs. Emery Howell of 211 Gilbertville Road, Elk Run; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Evansdale Funeral Home. The Rev. John McFarland, pastor of St. Marks's Methodist Church, Evansdale, will officiate.

Further funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Friends Church at Salem, with burial in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evansdale Funeral Home.
