WATERLOO — Chauncey N. "Butch" Burdick, 84, of Waterloo died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born April 10, 1920, in Cedar Township, Sac County, son of George E. and Lucretia Dell Cooper Burdick. He married Pearl M. Clark in 1940, and they later divorced in 1946. He then married Emma L. Paulson in 1951. She preceded him in death. Both Chauncey and Emma were retired from Rath Packing Co.

Survived by a sister-in-law, Erma Burdick; two nieces, Mary Miller and Glee Schultz; four nephews, Doug and Martin Burdick and Gene and Eddy Shafer; 16 great-nieces and -nephews; two stepsons, Roger and Robert Epperson; and a stepdaughter, Patricia Beharnds.

Preceded in death by his wife, Emma; his parents, George and Lucretia; a brother, Chickering; and five sisters: Ruby Dupey, Inez Shafer, Lorraine Carnes, Joyce Myers and Glee Cole.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Hagerman Baptist Church There will be no visitation. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.
