WATERLOO — Marguerite Elizabeth Slack Williams, 90, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Denver Sunset Home, Denver.

She was born Feb. 19, 1923, in New Hampton, daughter of Emil and Marie Schmidt Beier.

She married Everett Slack on June 11, 1942, in Fredericksburg. He died Sept. 24, 1991. She married Russell Williams on June 3, 1993, in Delhi. He died Dec. 30, 2003.

Mrs. Williams graduated from Fredericksburg High School. She worked as an office manager for Varsity Cleaners and Milroy’s Tuxedos and managed the Holiday Inn Coffee Shop.

Survived by two sons, Duane “Dewey” (Lori) Slack of Mulberry, Fla., and David (Sandy) Slack of Traer; a daughter, Joleen (Darrell) Newman of Waterloo; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; five brothers, Clifford, Elmer, Walter, Roy and Herbert; three sisters, Verna Brown, Lucille Shortly and Mable Jens; and two grandchildren.

Services: 11:30 am. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, with burial in New Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home.

Marguerite enjoyed knitting, sewing, camping and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Women’s Circle at First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo and the American Legion Auxiliary in Delhi. Marguerite will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
