WATERLOO - Norma J. Pontenberg, 70, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Elma, daughter of Victor and Helena Groth Larsen. She married DeVere "Bud" Pontenberg on Feb. 24, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waterloo.

She graduated from Riceville High School. Mrs. Pontenberg was employed at Allen Hospital, Imperial Vendors, Powers Manufacturing, John Deere, Gallagher law offices and Walmart.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Charles (Fátima); two daughters, Christine Pontenberg and Cynthia Stroud; seven grandchildren, Bruno (Leticia), Monique, Natasha, Cassandra, Madison, Jared and Sophia; three sisters, Katie (James) Reiken, Myrna (Jake) Jacoby and Irene (Roger) Heying; and a brother, Charles (Betty) Larsen.

Preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace; and two brothers, Gordon and Richard Larsen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
