Services for Edward M. McAleer 69, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pious the 10th Catholic Church He died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa

Mr. McAleer was born Nov 23, 1915 in Monti, the son of Hugh and Anne Holland McAleer. He married Marjorie K. Hayes Nov. 24, 1936 at Anamosa. She died July 8, 1967. He married Irene Schmitt July 3 1971. She survives. He is a past grand knight of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus while a local resident.

Survivors include a son, Col Michael E. of Pirmassens, West Germany; a daughter, Mary Ellen Elbert of Apple Valley, Minn.; a brother, John of Mason City two sisters, Sister Mary Pierre R.S.M. of Cedar Rapids and Huberta Wichman of Oelwein; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p m Sunday and 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Stewart Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. There will be a rosary service 4 p.m. Sunday, a Christian wake service 7 p.m. Monday and a Knights of Columbus rosary service 8 p.m. Monday, all at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established.
