WATERLOO - Carol A. Schmitz, 60, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Harmony House Health Care Center.

She was born March 30, 1947, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Berniece Green Peters. She married Gerald J. Schmitz July 2, 1966, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Schmitz had been employed with H & R Block for several years.

Survived by her husband; three sons, John (Jennifer) of Maupin, Ore., Brian (Angie) of Lake City, Minn., and Jason (Kelly) of Waterloo; a daughter, Laurie (Kent) Williams of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; her mother, Berniece Peters of Waterloo; two brothers, Don (Marian) Peters of Raymond and James Peters of Waterloo; and a sister, Debbie (Nick) Green of Eagle Center.

Preceded in death by her father, John Peters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Raymond. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also at the church for one hour before services on Wednesday.

Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond, or Northeast Iowa Brain Injury Association.
