Mrs. Barney W. Doyle, 83. a former Waterloo resident of 1600 Patterson Lane, Cedar Falls, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Sartori Memorial Hospital of a stroke.

She was born Emily Eliza Onstott on July 23, 1881, in Cedar County, the daughter of Jacob and Carolina Onstott. She was married on Oct. 7, 1900 to Barney W. Doyle at Mechanicsville.

She resided in the Waterloo area most of her life. In 1950 she moved to California and two years ago she returned to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Brown in Cedar Falls.

She was a charter member of the Navy Mothers' Club of Waterloo and a member of the Happy Thought Rebecca Lodge of Cedar Falls. She also was a member of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy Brown of 1600 Patterson Lane, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Laura Mattson of Cataldo, Idaho; three sons: Herbert W. of Sacramento, Calif.; William L. and Laurence E. of Westminster, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. John I. Cook of Mechanicsville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, where friends may call after noon Wednesday.
