Jack J. Lynch, 53, of 122 Williston Ave., died of cancer at 7:35 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Hospital, where he had been a patient six months.

He was born June 23, 1917, in Waterloo, son of Joseph and Helena Glass Lynch. After graduation in the class of 1936 from Sacred Heart High School, he attnded the State University of Iowa.

A World War II veteran, Mr. Lynch served five years in the Pacific theater of operations. He never married. He was employed 29 years as matallurgical technician by the Waterloo John Deere Tractor Works. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and an honorary member of St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Fritz Bornong, Gilbertville, and Mrs. Glen McClain, 410 Beverly Hills; and four brothers: Robert Francis Lynch, of 122 Williston Ave.; Edward of 918 W. 1st St.; Earl of 246 Alta Vista Ave., and Richard, 122 Williston Ave.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
