John J. Morris was born December 25, 1914, in Earling, Iowa, the son of Cornelius Patrick and Mary (Buckley) Morris. On October 5, 1940, he was united in marriage to Olive Jane Osborn in Janesville. He then went on to serve his Country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a machinist, retiring in 1975.

Survived by his wife, Olive of Cedar Falls; sons, John Patrick Morris of LaPorte City and Orville (Chjoldvor) Morris of Cedar Falls; daughters: Mary Jane (Fred) Jackson of Bedford, Rita Kay Markusson of Frederika, Patricia Morris of Waverly, and Catherine (Ken) Schneider of Shell Rock; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.

John died Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at his home in Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Albert Morris; brother, Pat Morris; and sisters, Evelyn Hoffman, Alice Linen, and Jean Torres.
