WATERLOO- Pastor Linford W. Moore, 85, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at his home.

He was born November 14, 1922 in Niagara Falls, New York, son of Linford W. and Cecil A. (Cartwright) Moore. He married Ruth Eleanor Hill on April 15, 1944 in Niagara Falls. She died June 11, 1991.

Pastor Moore received his license for ministry in 1945 from Oregon Bible College, Oregon, Illinois. He later received his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Northern Iowa. He pastored Churches of God in Macomb, Illinois; Waterloo; Van Nuys, California and Ft. Valley Virginia. While in Waterloo, he served Conger Street Church of God from 1950-1965, and again upon his return from Virginia. He also taught for the Cedar Falls School District at Cedar Heights Elementary while in ministry.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen P (Kirsten) Moore of Cedar Falls and Pastor Paul M. Moore of Waterloo; a daughter, Cecilia L. Shepard of Dysart; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Paul V. (Dorothy) Moore of Columbus, Ohio; and a sister, Viola (Ed) Goit of North Tonawanda, New York.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Moore and a sister, Shirley Hoy.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Conger Street Church of God, Waterloo, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation will be for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to African Mission work.
