WATERLOO — Richard A. Johnson, 67, of Humboldt, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at his home of natural causes.

He was born June 16, 1934, in Northwood, son of John and Mabel Skjeveland Johnson. He married Lois Ann Kritzman on Dec. 10, 1955.

A University of Northern Iowa graduate, Mr. Johnson was employed in the industrial engineering department of Rath Packing Co. from 1955 to 1963. He was then employed with the Cedar Falls Utilities from 1963 to 1978, the last four years as director of utilities. He was then employed by the North Iowa Municipal Electric Cooperative Association in Humboldt as executive vice president from 1981 until retiring in 1997. He served as president on the board of directors for the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities and Cedar Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Survived by his wife; a son, Steven of Englewood, Colo.; three daughters: Suanne Stultz of Waterloo, Sheryl Bosilevac of Overland Park, Kan., and Sara Nadermann of Ankeny; five grandchildren; a brother, Edward of Fairmont, Minn.; and four sisters: Amy Eslinger of New Hampton, Myrtle Johnson of Waterloo, Bernice Gorham of Fairmont and Crystal Squier of Nora Springs.

Preceded in death by a brother, Clifford; and a sister, Mary Haren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. today at Faith United Methodist Church, with burial in Union Cemetery, both in Humboldt. Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home, Humboldt, was in charge of arrangements.
