Cedar Falls, IowaPhil was born August 15, 1934, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Edward F. and Mary J. (Bonn) Kofron. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1952, Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1957 and his D.D.S. from the University of Iowa.
He served his Country in the United States Navy, entering Officers Candidate School in Norfolk, Virginia in 1957. Phil practiced dentistry in Denver, Iowa. He was a member of the Guy W. Iverson AMVETS Post #49 in Cedar Falls.
Survived by his step-daughters, Julie J. Evenson of Cedar Falls and Laurey L. (William) Standley of Portsmouth, Virginia; four grandchildren; brothers, Robert E. (Viola) Kofron of Janesville, J. Charles Kofron of Harpers Ferry, IA, and Clement F. (Betty) Kofron of Lime Springs; and sister, Mary Jo (Roger) Fiscus of Cedar Falls.
Phil died Monday, August 22, 2005, at his home in Cedar Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas J. Kofron; and sister-in-law, Gladys Kofron.
