MELQUIST, SOULES, WATSON, MESSER

Services will be 1 p. m. Saturday at Grace Methodist church for Mrs. Walter Melquist, 59, of 618 Independence Avenue, who died at 7:25 p. m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital. Death was caused by a stroke she suffered Monday.

She was born May 30, 1890, at Independence, la., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anson Soules. She was married to Roscoe Watson, who preceded her in death in 1922. She married Walter Melquist at Galena, Ill, Dec. 31, 1931.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Emery Watson, Independence, la, and La Verne Watson, Grand Island, Neb; a sister, Mrs. Mary Messer, Victor, la; and three brothers, Montie Soules, Jackson. Mich., Komer Soules, independence, and Clifford Soules, Oelwein, la.

Her parents, a son, a sister ard two brothers preceded her in death.

Rev. George G. Hunt will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Hazelton, Ia. The body will be taken from the O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home to the church at noon Saturday.
