Carlton was born December 15, 1925, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Leslie "Doc" and Hilda (Moreland) Seavey. He married Jean L. Hovenga January 5, 1953 in Windom, MN. She died November 17, 2003.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen (Marvin) Petersen of Cedar Falls, Bonnie (Randy) Duvel of Cedar Falls, Kathryn Benson of Waverly and Barbara (Dan) Noel of Cedar Falls; son, Leslie (Ann) Seavey of Cedar Falls; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Carlton died Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.
