WATERLOO - Francis John Daley, 90, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Cresco, son of John and Genevieve McCabe Daley. He married Kathryn Porter Sept. 18, 1947, in Oelwein.

Mr. Daley was employed at John Deere in the tool and die for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He served in the Army during World War II. He was member of St. Edward Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Meals on Wheels and St. Vincent De Paul.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Thomas (Peggy) of Galesville, Wis., and Timothy (Maureen) of New Hartford; a daughter, Rebecca (Dan) Amato-Hemmingsen of Rochester, Minn. 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene of Cresco and Gerald (Marie) of Charles City; and a sister, Charlene Conrad of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Tridle; twin daughters, Denise Ann and Diane Marie Daley; a brother, Paul Daley; and a granddaughter, Michelle Hanson.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 5 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools.
