WATERLOO — Darrell Dean Kleve, 78, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Allen Hospital of an aneurysm.

He was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Neb., son of Edwin and Alice Greek Kleve. He married Annette Schiel on June 1, 1957, in Waterloo.

Mr. Kleve graduated from Sacred Heart School and Plumbing Apprentice School. He was a plumber for Young Plumbing & Heating Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1996.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Christopher (Janet) of Chicago and Thomas (Andrea) of Wheaton, Ill.; three daughters, Catherine Wood of Chandler, Ariz., Theresa (David) Testin of Columbus, Ga., and Margaret (Michael) Brown of Bartlett, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren, Sam Wood, Riley, Genny and Josie Kleve, Nick, Lucas and Kyle Testin, Mariah, Matthew and Mikayla Brown and Katie and Jack Kleve.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Diana Kleve.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour preceding services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Queen of Peace Elevator Fund.
