CEDAR FALLS — Eunice C. Larsen, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

She was born March 19, 1925, in Royal, daughter of N. C. and Martha Neve Carlsen. She married the Rev. Homer Larsen on June 12, 1947, in Blair, Neb.

She graduated from Dana College, Blair, with a bachelor’s degree in English. Her first job was teaching junior high in Blair. Later, along with Darlene Surface, she started the preschool at Nazareth Lutheran Church. For many years she taught the Bethel Bible Series, adult Sunday School, and led women’s retreats.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Natalie (Bob) Gehringer of Menasha, Wis., and Julie (Steve) Kramer of Lakeland, Minn.; a son, John (Laurie) of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Lea Gehringer, Dane (Lauren) Gehringer, Sam Kramer, Martha Kramer, Tim Larsen, Mark Larsen and Sarah Larsen; a great-grandson, Benjamin Gehringer; and a brother, Niels Carlsen of Florida.

Preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Christian Crusaders.

Eunice loved to teach and was passionate about studying and teaching the Bible.
