Services for Gertrude E. Morkel, 73, of 1951 Ashland Ave., will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of Memories with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. She died of kidney failure Sunday
(Jan. 3, 1988) at Allen Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 22, 1914, in Waterloo, daughter of William and Bertha Manski Gipe. She married Gus Morkel on Aug. 25, 1935, in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband; she was preceded in death by a brother, William Gipe; and a sister, Margaret McNamara.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday.

Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
