WATERLOO—William "Bill" R. Dean, 55, of 1001 Ann St, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Covenant Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Waterloo, son of Kenneth and Lois Peters Dean. Mr. Dean owned Readlyn Salvage Yard and was then an over the road trucker with R & A Trucking Co. He also served in the US. Army during Vietnam.

Survived by two sons, William J. of Davenport and Christopher W. of Waterloo; a grandson; his mother and stepfather, Lois and Lloyd Peterson of Waterloo; and a sister, Marilyn Briner of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his father, and grandparents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
