MOORE, AKIN, LOCKARD, BOWMAN

There will be no services or visitation for Myron M. Moore, 97, of 908 Park Towers, formerly of Union, who died of complications of age Monday (Jan. 4, 1988) at Parkview Gardens Care Center. His body was donated to medical science at the University of Iowa.

He was born May 30, 1890, in Jamestown, N.Y., son of Herbert C. and Bernian Akin Moore. He married Lois C. Lockard in 1913 at Spirit Lake. They were later divorced.

He moved to Waterloo in 1919 and worked at John Deere as an electrical engineer and then at Waterloo Motor Rewinding as a motor rewinder. He then worked as a trouble shooter for Zenith Radio, a part of Repass Auto. He then owned M.M. Moore & Sons Heating and Bulk Oil Distributer, which was later sold to Young Coal Co. He also worked at Paulsen Heating Co. and Pope Mfg. Co. until he retired.

Survivors include a son, Roger M. of 311 Clark Drive, Cedar Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothea Bowman of 4041 Crossway Drive, Apt. 106; and 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald "Bud" Moore; three brothers and four sisters.

Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church.
