Memorial services for Lowell V. "Bud" Ayers, 87, of Ravenwood Health Care Center, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. His body was donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He died of complications of age Sunday (Jan. 3, 1988) at the health care center.

He was born Nov. 2, 1900, in Story County, son of John and Ellen Matthews Ayers. He married Kathryn E. Peterson on Nov. 13, 1937, in Waterloo.

He was a truck driver for Briggs Transportation for 24 years, retiring in 1962. He served the Winnebego Council of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 29 years, holding numerous offices.

Survivors include his wife; three sons: John of Clear Lake, James of Rochester, Minn., and David of
Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Ringenberg of Minneapolis and Joan Ayers of Dows; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Loren; three sisters: Mary Elliott, Hattie Dailey and Margaret Morris; and two grandsons.

There will be no visitation. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Winnebego Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
