CEDAR FALLS — David B. Novick, 69, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 12, 1944, in Waterloo, son of Nicholas Stephen and Maxine Evelyn Jones Novick II. He married Angela Kay Olson on Dec. 17, 1993, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1962, and attended Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo, for certification in the medical field. Mr. Novick was a medic in the Army from 1962 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. He was a ambulance driver and EMT and also was a emergency room technician at Allen Hospital, Waterloo. He also worked as an orderly and med aide at the Woodward State Hospital. David was a member of Prairie Lakes Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Karen (Timothy) Lagel of Sumner and Heather (Gale) Wilson of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Ashley Lagel, Victoria Lagel, Katherine Hall, Tracy Nunemaker Jr., Abigail Wilson, Chloe Wilson and Rachel Wilson; and a brother, Nicholas Stephen (Jane) of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Toika Novick.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Oelwein, with military graveside rites by Ross Reid American Legion Post No. 9 Honor Guard of Oelwein. Visitation will be held for two hours before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

A Memorial fund has been established in his name.
