Donna Mae Andersen Koch, age 75, of Dike, died April 28, 2010, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.

She was born on May 1, 1934, in Tyler, Minnesota to Andrew and Eva (Fredericksen) Andersen. She graduated from Tyler High School and from Grand View College in Des Moines. She taught second grade in Fort Madison. She married Dennis Raymond Koch on June 18, 1955 in Tyler, MN. She and her husband farmed in rural Cedar Falls until 1987 when they moved to Dike. She worked at Carolyn's Fashion Fabrics and Von Maur before retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Fredsville Lutheran Church and Anna Circle. She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed fishing, and loved watching her grandchildren in all of their activities.

Survivors include her husband Dennis; children, Denise (Mike) Matthes, Karla (David Towle) Koch, Paul (Lora) Koch, and John (Kim) Koch; eleven grandchildren, Matthew (fiance Jodi Taute) and Michael Matthes, John, Breen and Ian Greer, Andrea, Sara and Kristi Koch, and Alyson, Kellan and Lyndie Koch; and her sisters, Betty Christensen and Valborg Pace.

Preceded in death by an infant sister ValDonna and three brothers, Kenneth, Arvin and Norville.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fredsville Lutheran Church, with burial in Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Richardson Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Iowa Heart Association.
