CEDAR FALLS — Violetta L. Adams, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Elma, daughter of John and Christina Lamprecht Schwake. She married Lyle Adams on Nov. 26, 1947, in Omaha, Neb. He died Feb. 14, 2009.

She graduated from Sumner High School. Mrs. Adams worked at Rath Packing Co., Wells Department Store and the Woolco Store in Waterloo. She was a member of the Lutheran faith.

Survived by a daughter, Dixie (Gary) Floss of Dunkerton; six sons: Bruce (Rita) of Tennessee, Jerry (Lori) of Cedar Falls, Neil (Susie) of Waterloo, Terry (Virginia) of Finchford, Rex (Maggie) of Holiday Lake, and Kevin (fiancee Sandy Gowans) of Waterloo; 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter; eight brothers: Emil, Harold, George, Fred, Leslie, John, Edwin and William; and 3 sisters: Amanda Baethke, Lillian Ring and Viola Averhoff.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
