CEDAR FALLS — Adelbert “Del” Leavitt, 77, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born July 13, 1935, in North Platte, Neb., son of Bernard and Laura Whittington Leavitt. He married Reesa Norton on April 14, 1963, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Leavitt earned his master's degree in engineering from Kansas State University and was an engineer at Deere & Co. in Waterloo.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Rory (Heidilyn) of Hermiston, Ore., and Scott (Daniela) of Northport, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Roland (Charleen) Leavitt, of Lincoln, Neb.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 550 W. Airline Highway, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
