WATERLOO — Lorna Wyckoff, 85, of Iowa City, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit, Iowa City, from complications of a long illness.

She was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Waterloo, daughter of Alfred S. and Edna Hekel Klein. She married Harold V. Wyckoff on Sept. 1, 1946. He died Jan. 6, 1974.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1945. Mrs. Wyckoff worked at John Deere for several years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a daughter, Barbara (Alan) Smart of Iowa City; a son, Andrew (Julie) of Decorah; three grandchildren, Ben (Emily) Smart and Thomas and Kelsey Wyckoff; a great-granddaughter, Phoebe Smart; and a brother, Gordon Hekel of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Maybeth Knoop.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation for an hour and a half before services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
