Services for Carl R. Rhode, 53, of 1409 College St., will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at Nottger Funeral Home any time.

Mr. Rhode died Wednesday at University Hospital in Iowa City of uremic poisoning.

He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Cedar Falls, son of Marius and Anine Knudsen Rhode. He married Virginia Warner May 10, 1941. He was a machinist at John Deere for 26 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; mother, Anine Rhode of the Western Home; a son, Ronald of Duluth, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Brandenburg of Independence; and three sisters: Mrs. Lowell (Camilla) Young of Macabe, Mont., Mrs. William (Agnes) Meester of Holland, la. and Mrs. Floyd (Marian) Nelson of 1421 W. 8th St.

He was preceded by his father and an infant daughter.
