CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Marguerite A. Shipp, 94, died on Friday, July 10, 2009, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born on February 28, 1915, in Saratoga Township, Iowa, the daughter of Edward Joseph and Anna Marie Beckman Jarosh. She married Laurence William Shipp on October 7, 1933 in Waterloo Iowa. He died April 7, 1978. Marguerite and her husband farmed in the New Hartford area.

She is survived by six nephews: Jim (JoAnn) Baker, Don (Carol) Jarosh, and Bob (Darlene) Jarosh, all of Waterloo, and Steve (Joanie) Barth of Melbourne, Florida, and John (Vada) Baker of West Liberty, Iowa, and Vern (Karen) Baker of Moneta, Virginia; two nieces, Pat Buchanan of Waterloo and Janan Burger of Waterloo; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by two brothers, Clarence E. (Eva) Jarosh and Jerome J. (Marian) Jarosh; by two sisters, Christina (Cyril) Baker Louise (Bob) Barth; and by a nephew Joe Barth.

Services will be at 10:30 am Monday at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Cedar Falls with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Waterloo. Friends may call from 2-4 pm Sunday at the Western Home Communities Chapel where there will be a vigil service at 4 p.m. Visitation will also be for an hour before services at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be made to The Western Home Communities or St. Patricks Catholic Church.
