WATERLOO — Leo Pagel, 49, of 129 Rosebud Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center of lung cancer.

He was born Nov. 29, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Ray A. and Bertie LaMaster Pagel. He married M. Susan Fowler on Aug. 15, 1978, in Waterloo.

Mr. Pagel attended West High School and received an associate's degree from Hawkeye Institute of Technology in securities, loss prevention and police science. He was an auto mechanic for many years and recently worked as a truck driver for Linn Star of Cedar Rapids, and Krusemark Trucking of Evansdale. He also served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees.

Survived by his wife; a son, Robert Ray; a daughter, Camella Mae; three grandchildren; his parents, of Bella Vista, Ark.; and two sisters, Karla Finkenbinder and Kelli Jones.

Preceded in death by a brother, Randy; and his grandparents, Jesse and Lydia
LaMasler and Gertrude and Charles Pagel.

Services were 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home. His body was cremated.
