CEDAR FALLS — Donald C. Rohwedder, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

He was born Dec. 5, 1928, in Greene, son of Elmer and Joyce McChestney Rohwedder. He married Faye Breneman on Dec. 23, 1956, in Grinnell.

Mr. Rohwedder graduated from Greene High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and was employed with Clay Equipment for 35 years, retiring in 1992 as credit manager. He was an Eagle Scout and served as Scout Master for Troop 44. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Bill (Stacy) of Cedar Falls and John (Sara) of Birmingham, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly (Harrison) Bone of Greene.

Preceded in death by a son, Tim.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Honor Guard. Visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Western Home Foundation.
