Memorial services for Gordon "Tutce" Rath of Kinsington, Md., and formerly of Waterloo, who died Saturday at a Bethesda, Md., hospital of complications of a stroke, will be Wednesday in Maryland with burial in Arlington, Va., National Cemetery.

Rath was born in Waterloo, son of Fred C. and Margaret Rath. He graduated from East High School in the early 1900s, where he was the captain of the football team.

He graduated from the College of Law at the University of Iowa, where he also played football. He was a retired attorney with the Controller General's office in Washington, D.C.

Survivors include his wife, DeWitt Norris Rath; a son, Norris; a daughter, Gretchen; and two brothers, Harold "Dick" G. Rath and Andrew P. Rath, both of Cedar Falls.
