Dave Dillard Jr., 76, of 638 Cottage St., died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992, of cancer at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1916, in Hughes, Ark., son of Dave and Willie Lee Blackmon Dillard. He and his wife, Essie, were married in Arkansas. They were later divorced.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had lived in Waterloo since 1966 and worked at Waterloo Wood Production for many years and also in construction. He became disabled in 1978.

Survivors include a longtime companion, Grace P. Greer.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greer Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Chapel military rites will be by American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
