Mrs. Rose Turner, 88, of 2955 Lafayette Street, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday at her home of complications incident to advanced age.

She was born Nov. 18, 1861, at Nora, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rutter. On Feb. 15, 1882, she was married to William Turner at Waterloo.

The couple farmed east of Waterloo for several years, until their retirement 25 years ago when they moved to Dewar, Ia.

Survivors include three sons: Edward and Franks, both of Route 5, Waterloo, and Herbert L., Fargo, N. D.; two daughters, Mrs. H. G. Simmons, 2955 Lafayette Street, and Mrs. Gertie Wood, 1914 Bluff Street, 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Frank Shannon, 903 Independence Avenue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services are incomplete. The body is at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
