AGED STONE CUTTER PASSES TO REWARD

Vincent Barta, aged 78 years, died at 2 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Moline, four miles northeast of the city, following an illness due to the infirmities of age.

Deceased was a stone cutter by trade and followed that work until a few years ago, since which time he led a retired life.

He was born in Bohemia, but for a number of years resided in Marshalltown previous to coming to this city.

His wife died last spring. Besides his daughter, deceased is survived by a son, Vincent, who conducts a stone-cutting business on Eleventh
Street.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 12:30 from the daughter's residence, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Graves, and burial will take place in Fairview.
