WATERLOO — Richard Clarence Rue, 79, of Hiawatha, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Hospice House of Mercy.

He was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Waterloo, and married Betty Ann Kusian on Oct. 2, 1959, in Parkersburg. She preceded him in death.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. Mr. Rue owned and operated Action Pest Control.

Survived by a daughter, Teresa (Tom) Lemon of Clarksville; a son, Kevin of Waterloo; his special friend, Jennette McClurg; a sister, Delores Stealy; and four grandchildren, Aaron Lemon, Jared Lemon, Joey Rue and Anna Lemon.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, (correct date) in at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, preceded by visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. He has donated his body to the University of Iowa. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Richard liked to read nature and history books and spend time with his grandchildren.
