FAIRBANK — Garold W. "Gary" Sadler, 64, of rural Fairbank, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 16, 1946, in Waterloo, son of Leonard and Mae Fettkether Sadler. He married Thresa Marie Thole on April 24, 1971, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Strawberry Point.

Following graduation from Dunkerton High School, Dunkerton, he served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Mr. Salder was self-employed as an electrician, operating Sadler Electric in Fairbank. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup.

Survived by his wife; four daughters: Karen (Brendt) Landers of Greene, Lori (Josh) Brandt of Mason City, Becky (Clint) Stiles of Grimes and Kristy (John) Tiedt of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; six brothers, Harold, Erv and Melvin (Theresa), all of Dunkerton, Raymond and Ed (Donna), both of Fairbank, and Gerald (Elaine) of Waterloo; and three sisters: Rita Schmitz of Jesup, Donna Nelson of Fairbank and Judy Starbuck of St. Louis.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Alvin; and a sister, Mary Sadler.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery-Barclay, rural Dunkerton. Military rites will be conducted by Fortsch-Duffy American Legion Post 552 of Fairbank. Public visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials will be directed to various charities.
