La Porte City—The funeral of Edward O'Brien was conducted Monday, with services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here. Rev. Francis Hablg, pastor, in charge. Burial was in West View Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dow. Fike, A. J. Lucas, I. C. Good. Bert Bagenstos, John Belts, Jay Bagenstos.

Mr. O'Brien died Friday from a stroke of paralysis, suffered at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Will Christian, In Spring Creek Township, where he had been cared for folowing a stroke suffered last fall.

A son, James O'Brien, Nashville, Tenn., was unable to come for the funeral but a daughter, Miss Ellen O'Brien, Chicago, was here.
